Search Fixed

append delete rezz

There have been a few complaints about the search feature on openwebnews not working. This feature has now been fixed. Unfortunately for now it uses google for searching openwebnews. I will be switching to duckduckgo in the future for better privacy once the site is better indexed by duckduckgo.

Be cautioned that google does not believe in your privacy. Any searches done through google may reveal your identity. Especially if you are logged in via google.

I might have missed something but why does it matter if your logged in to Google or not?

Once you exit this site from any links provided, or by using the search feature. Those sites then have the ability to see where you are coming from.

Openwebnews cannot promise your anonymity once you leave this domain.
Google is the worst offender of privacy concerns. Personally I would have rather let the search feature broken.

(Leave this as-is, it’s a trap!)
